Daniel Hartsig Joins WasteCap as Director of Project Management

(July 19, 2017) -- MILWAUKEE, WIS. -- WasteCap Resource Solutions today announces the selection of Daniel Hartsig as Director of Project Management. Hartsig joins the WasteCap team with over 9 years of sustainability and 20 years of architecture experience.

"Daniel Hartsig is a game changer!” said Travis Blomberg, Executive Director of WasteCap. “His experience with green buildings, manufacturing and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® (LEED) certification makes him the perfect candidate to lead our consulting group.  In just over a month, he's taken over several projects, developed new client relationships and updated our operational waste management procedure at our facility.”

Hartsig received his Bachelor and Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago where his studies focused on sustainable design and international architecture. He began his career at A. Epstein and Sons where he formed a green team and pushed for the firm to pursue LEED certification projects.

Prior to joining WasteCap, Hartsig worked at Transwestern as the manager of new construction. There, he served as an owner’s advocate, project manager and technical advisor, guiding project teams through certification under the WELL Building Standard® (WELL) and LEED.

Driven by WasteCap’s mission and story, Hartsig now serves as a strategy leader guiding small businesses, large organizations and even cities overcome the challenges associated with attaining zero waste goals.

“People think of recycling as a zeitgeist of the nineties, but the reality is we have a long way to go to zero waste,” said Hartsig. “There’s a lot of opportunity within this field. Even small changes can have a substantial impact.”
