This year's annual networking, fundraising, and member appreciation event was hosted at LVL in historic Walker's Point. WasteCap gathered attendees to celebrate accomplishments such as the launch of our new retail division, Razed & Found. Everything WasteCap salvages during deconstruction projects can be purchased at the Razed & Found store. For the third straight year, WastCap celebrated Milwaukee Day having its third annual Milwaukee Day Sale.
WasteCap Resource Solutions was presented with the prestigious Force for Positive Change Award for making a substantial social impact in Wisconsin. WasteCap won the hotly contested Manufacturing / Art / Design / Construction prize category over other finalists such as 7 Rivers Recycling, Cathedral Squared Enterprises, and Eye Heart World. WasteCap participated as a gold level sponsor and exhibitor at the Wisconsin Integrated Resource Management Conference (WIRMC) on February 28th - March 2nd, 2018. Travis Blomberg (Executive Director) presented a track session titled: Milwaukee's Introduction to Home Deconstruction.
The annual blowout sale is WasteCap's largest annual sale! It began by offering 20% off purchases on Wednesday 12/13 and then ramped up to 30% off Thursday, 40% off Friday and 50% off Saturday.
WasteCap hosted two groups of Marquette students over the course of two days during the university's fall break. Volunteers helped preserve Milwaukee, and it's history, by de-nailing reclaimed lumber boards and clearing trash along Clybourn Street. On October 20, 2017, WasteCap hosted a Lunch & Learn featuring Bigbelly. Bigbelly, a Smart Waste Management, Smart City and Internet of Things (IoT) industry leader, is focused on driving efficiency in waste collection. Daniel Hartsig, Director of Project Management, spoke at USGBC Wisconsin's Annual Sustainable Roundtable. This event was held October 18 at Engberg Anderson Architects. Joined by industry leaders, Hartsig spoke about his career and the importance of proper and sustainable waste management.
WasteCap saw over 900 visitors during Doors Open Milwaukee 2017! The September 23 and 24 event brought regular customers and new faces to the shop.
On July 21st - 22nd, 2017, WasteCap teamed up with artist group Fresh Perspective and UWM School of Architecture's Matthew Jarosz. The two day Gallery Night event held at the Mobile Design Box attracted neighborhood residents and art fanatics alike.
