Warehouse and Reuse Project Opportunities

WasteCap volunteers have the opportunity to learn about the unique stories of our materials while helping divert materials from the landfill. Our volunteer positions include tasks such as:

  • cleaning materials
  • staging new inventory
  • general shop upkeep
  • designing new displays
  • assisting with the management of incoming materials.

We also love working with organizations for scheduled volunteer days. In 2017, students from Marquette University volunteered with Hunger Clean Up and families from Johnson Controls visited as part of their Earth Day celebration.

Volunteers from Marquette University's Hunger Clean Up. More photos from this event and our Johnson Controls event can be found on our Facebook page.

While we prefer to have an ongoing commitment, we are quite flexible and are more than happy to work with you on finding a time or schedule that works best for you. We have worked with volunteers to fulfill school service requirements as well as court-ordered community service hour requirements.

If you’re looking to get your hands dirty to help preserve pieces of Milwaukee’s built history and keep material out of landfills please email volunteer@wastecap.org or call 414-961-1100.

Our organization encourages the participation of volunteers who support our vision to transform waste into resources.
